I love being the morning voice of WMUZ. I’m proud to have had the chance to say “WMUZ, Detroit made and Bible strong” in between the records. But as I looked around the metro Detroit media landscape, morning radio in particular, I realized something was missing: a full-blown, passionate voice and conversation that could be heard as folks were getting ready for the day, on their way to work or school, and who needed even a little encouragement to be be fiercely and proudly Christian and conservative. Don’t get me wrong. I love music. I loved playing music in the morning. But let’s be honest, these days music can be played and heard every which way. And so I went to WMUZ’s management and ownership and proposed what’s become God and Country (hosted by me). A place on morning radio to give voice to conservative thought, where Christians can find refuge and capital-T Truth in the cacophony that is today’s media landscape. My gratitude to the boss for agreeing and allowing me this opportunity knows no bounds.

Along with thanking WMUZ’s GM, Frank Franciosi and Crawford Broadcasting’s owner, Don Crawford, I thank God for blessing me with the stewardship of mornings in Detroit on WMUZ. Our aim for the show is to encourage you, to inform you, and to equip you with God’s Word each morning. We do that by including you in the conversation. We do that by discussing the day’s issues with newsmakers, especially when it’s important to the Christian community here in SE Michigan. We do that by getting fed by the Word every morning.

No topic is off-limits. We cover faith, family, culture, church, politics, freedom, Michigan, and America. One minute, we might be discussing the dangers of a certain political movement, in another, parenting issues in these crazy times, in yet another, we’ll have a lively conversation with a newsmaker…and everything in between.

Most importantly, there are two things at the center of it all: our walk with Christ, our love of America, and our walking together in doing His will. Okay, three. You get it.
